Lovely red 5 layer chevron. This is an "elbow bead" due to the fact that while it was being made the cane was purposely bent. This bead was made recently by 4th generation beadmaker Luigi Catalian. Old cane (probably from the 1920's) was used in the process. It measures about 15 by 35mm.
