Isn't this the greatest looking rock? It's called lepidocrosite or sometimes ruby quartz ( personally I'm pushing for lepidolated quartz). Anyways, it gets this way from red mica inclusions in the clear quartz. It is very rare and these beads are an exceptional specimen. The strand is graduated fron about 5 to 15 mm.
