These were a wonderful find. These beads are vintage-new old stock. They are made from the same kind of shell that cameos are traditionally made of. Each strand has 24 inches of perfectly round, graduated beads. The smallest are 6mm and the largest center bead is 15mm. The color is marbled in various shades of coral. They have a very high gloss finish and a depth that reminds me of raw egg. Not disgusting like it sounds try to visualize the textural value of an freshly broken egg where the yolk broke but it hasn't been beaten- the colors in these beads seem to float through the beads. There are 67 beads on the strand. If you love organic gemstones then these are a must have.
